TakeOne

Privacy Policy

Overview

TakeOne is built to work without an account and without sending your content to a server. Your scripts and recordings are stored locally on your device. This policy explains exactly what data the app touches and why.

What stays on your device

  • Scripts you write in the editor
  • Video recordings you save
  • App settings (lens, resolution, framerate, scroll speed)
  • Local usage stats (streaks, take counts) used to power the in-app Stats screen

None of the above is uploaded to TakeOne's servers, because TakeOne does not operate a server that stores your content. Saved recordings may also be written to your device's Photos library if you grant that permission — that copy is managed by iOS, not by us.

Permissions the app requests

  • Camera & Microphone — required to record video. Used only while you are actively recording.
  • Speech Recognition — powers Voice Scroll, which listens to your speech on-device to advance the script automatically.
  • Photos Library — requested only if you choose to save a recording to your device's photo library.

Third-party services

TakeOne uses RevenueCat to process subscription and purchase status through Apple's App Store. RevenueCat receives purchase/transaction identifiers necessary to validate your subscription — it does not receive your scripts or recordings. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple; TakeOne never sees or stores your payment details.

This website

This site (not the app) uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits and understand which pages are useful. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other sites — it records aggregate visit data (page, referrer, approximate location from IP) that isn't tied to your name or any account, because the site doesn't have accounts. See Vercel's privacy policy for details on how that data is processed.

Security

Because your scripts and recordings never leave your device, they're protected by iOS's own app sandboxing and device security (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID) rather than a server we operate. There's no TakeOne account or server-side database to be breached, because none exists.

International users

If you're in the EEA, UK, or another region with its own data protection laws: the limited processing described above (purchase/transaction identifiers via RevenueCat and Apple, and aggregate site analytics via Vercel) is the extent of what leaves your device. You can contact us at any time with questions about how that data is handled, including requests related to rights you may have under GDPR or similar laws.

Data you can delete

Because everything lives on your device, deleting a script or recording in the app deletes it immediately. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. There is no server-side account or backup to separately request deletion from.

Children's privacy

TakeOne is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
